Day 1 Officially

What a day!! It has been non stop and full of so much.  As you can see this is being posted at 1:30 in the morning which should speak a little bit to the type of day that we have had.  We started out this morning doing some clinics at La Roca for the students in the school.  This was a great time for us as we got to work hands on with the kids of the very place where we are staying.  As you can see from the pictures, they respond really well to the team and we really had a great time with them.  After this we went to the beach and had fun just relaxing and hanging out at in the ocean.  The water was cold and it was windy, but after battling the heat for two days here in Lima we were happy to feel cold for a change.  Tonight we had a lot of fun.  We got to play our first game!! We played a club team out of Lima and one of the best club teams here.  Last year they were the champions of the club league here in Lima.  All that to say that the competition was a little fierce.  We got down by double digits late in the third quarter before coming from behind to win 81-77.  It was so much fun for us and for the Peruvian team and the best part about it was what happened afterwards.  Bryce shared his testimony right after the game, followed by a gospel presentation given by Brian, one of the workers here at La Roca.  It was during this time where we got to experience our true purpose for being here. Sure we came here to play basketball, and did it well tonight, but the goal is to use that as an opportunity to share the name of Christ with the people of Peru and that also happened tonight.  It was truly an amazing night.  A door was opened to share Jesus Christ because of the game of basketball and we believe that God is pleased with what happened tonight.  Please continue to pray for us as we continue to go to University's and play basketball.  Pray not for our basketball success, but that the name of Jesus would be heard and received because of the actions and words of our team and the men and woman of La Roca.  It's been an amazing day.  More to come tomorrow.  Enjoy some pictures from our day.  We love you all and miss you.  Thank you for your prayers and support.

  1. Bo, you've never looked better. I LOVE your hair. It is sooooo long and gorgeous. As for Spencer, you are Ben's hero. He took a picture of you to the barber and got it cut just like yours, with extra hair on top. As for Sam, he decided that y'all didn't go far enough, and he shaved his hair completely off. Praying for you and your hair. With much love and lots of hair, Mac.
