Day 3 (maybe)
Had another great day yesterday. Yesterday morning we had a great opportunity to travel and see some of the members of La Roca Church who needed prayer. We went into their homes, conversed with them, listened to their stories and at the end we laid hands on them and prayed for them. It was very cool to be a part of that. The people here are truly amazing. The joy of the Lord just radiates through everyone we meet. It is truly inspiring. In the afternoon we went to one of the communities (Los Angeles) where we taught a basketball clinic and got to enjoy some time with the kids in that community. The kids were so energetic about the clinic and had so much fun. We had such a blast with them, it was an awesome time. Towards the end of the clinic, Bo shared his testimony and Santiago (James) shared the gospel with the kids. We saw about 6 or 7 kids make a decision to accept Christ. What an amazing thing it is to see the innocence of a child come to receive the Lord for the first time. It really brought a smile to all of our faces. Last night we headed back to the Catholic University for another game. It was our third game in three nights and most of us seemed to be feeling it a little bit. We were sluggish and our shots were not falling like normal, but we played hard down the stretch and found a way to stay in the game. With 8 seconds left we had a three point lead and the Catholic University came down and threw up a three as time expired and it went in!!!! We went in overtime. In overtime the game was back and forth back and forth. We took a lead, they took a lead. Up one with a little over two minutes left, Hackney (Dr. Dre) nailed a monster 3 from out top to give us a four point lead and it was over from there. We made free throws down the stretch and won by a final score of 75-71. I don't think we can explain how much fun it has been to play in these games. They have all been close and intense and super fun. As we have talked, one thing continues to come to mind. How cool is it that we have the opportunity to use basketball as a way to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with people?? Something so simple like basketball gives us an opportunity to go into high schools and college's and share Jesus. What a blessing! Thanks for the support and prayers. Please continue to pray that the name of Jesus would be very present in all that we do. Love you guys.
